Research is key to many of the design decisions we make on a day-to-day basis, but we spend a lot more time talking about the design than the research. The Research Thing aims to provide a place for designers, developers, UXers, information architects, interactions designers, design researchers and others to discuss the research methods they use, how research is conducted, how results are communicated and how the research impacts design decisions.
